The novel currently has 16 volumes and is available in both Japanese and English, with more volumes planned for release in the future. The light novel has been selling especially well, and many fans welcome it's take on the fantasy genre, especially since the story doesn't have to rely on the isekai trope to create the main character.

The author, Jougi Shiraishi, admitted that some of his inspiration for the series came from National Geographic. The author is inspired by the different animals and plants of Earth and wanted to put the wonder of discovering new creatures into a novel.

This leads to Elaina finding many different mysterious creatures, both familiar and unfamiliar in her world. The book series lets readers discover new places alongside the main character. The light novel series isn't like a standard fantasy title. The stories in the light novel are disjointed, and many of them have no connection to each other as Elaina constantly moves on to other parts of the world.

While some of the stories may loosely connect together, fans shouldn't expect an overarching story. The world is large and full of many people who don't know each other.

On top of not connecting together, many stories may not exactly have an end or beginning. Elaina may come in when the story is in its climax, or as it is just starting, this leads her to only see parts of the tale. She may decide to leave before there is a conclusion, although some chapters do imply the ending. The chapters are set-up to feel like Elaina is just passing through areas without getting wrapped up in them. Many fans were shocked when Elaina didn't go out of her way to save a town.

I have compared a few pictures and Elaina looks as if she could be Nike's sister but I think it is her mother there eyes and hair that look the same and watching the episodes their voices are also the same.

If you watch the episodes carefully you can also see that Nike and Elaina have the same personality. Does this evidence point to Nike being her mother also how would her mother know Mrs. Fran when miss fran is from another country??? It's obvious that they are the same person; it's more or less confirmed in the novels iirc. Either way; it is a brainer. There you go; I welcome every extra seasoning. Who My Master is. If that's the case than Elaina's dad must has some god tier flirting skill. After watching episode 5, I already thought Nikeh is her mother and if not then I would be shocked because a decent number of clues dropped that episode.

The anime-type storytelling makes it more obvious. When Elaina visited the town of Royal Celestaria and met Fran-sensei again , they had a talk together. At that time Fran-sensei inquired why Elaina chose to be traveler and asked whether it was due to her mother's influence. This was the most obvious hint to Nike's identity. Many more indications were made in other episodes. In episode 10 we get to know that Fran-sensei and Sheila were apprentices of Nike. Nike is no doubt Elaina's mother u can even understand from their similar appearances.

Spoiler : Also i checked fandom , Nike or Victorica is Elaina's mother. Preview Manga Manga Store. So I think it's rather her aunt or some other relative, but not her mom most possibily, if there wasn't something really crazy that happened BBCode.
